KC Teams Bring Home the Gold!

It was a great weekend for some KC Minor Hockey teams at the Norwest Stars of Tomorrow Tournament! 

The U13AA Sabres finished their round robin with a perfect 4-0 record.  That set up a semifinal against the Neebing Hawks, against whom they hadn't managed a victory thus far this season.  The Sabres picked the perfect time to snap that streak, beating the Hawks 3-2 to set up a championship battle against the PA Westfort Maroons.  The Sabres would go on to cap off their perfect weekend with a 3-1 win in the final to bring home the trophy.  Great job, Sabres!!



Not to be outdone, the U15A Sabres put together an undefeated weekend of their own, despite playing as many as four players short.  After finishing the round robin with two wins and two ties, the Sabres met the Westfort Rangers in the semifinals, in a rematch of their 2-2 battle just 14 hours earlier.  The Sabres would come out on the right end of a 7-1 score in the semifinals to set up a championship battle with the VP Bearcats.  After a back and forth game that saw regulation time end at 2-2, overtime would solve nothing (despite a VP penalty shot with 7 seconds left).  The Sabres would go on to outscore the Bearcats 2-0 in the shootout to bring home the championship trophy...great team effort, Sabres!
