The U11AA KC Sabres are Robins Tournament Champions! The U11AA Sabres had an amazing weekend in the Robins Tournament this weekend.
In their first game, they took to the ice against the West End Bruins. Both teams battled and with 2.7 seconds left in the third the Bruins tied the game.
Their second and third games were against the Sioux Bombers and the NorWest Stars. The Sabres worked as a team and earned wins in both games.
Game four had the Sabres facing off against the Neebing Hawks. Both goaltenders were called on to make some great saves. The Sabres took the win to earn 2nd seed going into the semis, where they would face off against the Neebing Hawks again. The game was well fought by both teams and the Sabres edged the Hawks to advance to the championship final.

Just 8 seconds into overtime, Nathan Pugliese found the back of the net to win the tournament, and the celebration was on! Congratulations Sabres on an exciting and well played weekend!
The U11AA Sabres weren't the only KC team to have a strong showing in the Robins Tournament. In U11A action, the KC Whalers finished the round robin with a 3-0-1 record, and defeated Longlac 6-4 in the Quarterfinal, before falling by that same 6-4 score to a tough Superior Stars team in their semifinal game. In U13A play, the KC Kraken went undefeated in their round robin, going 4-0 while outscoring their opposition 22-4. The Kraken would fall to the PA Westfort Maroons in a close playoff opener.
